With effort and seriously pursue the Association of Citizens Civil Rights Protection and support National Commission for UNESCO, Shiraz was to have lifelong Learning characteristics in the global arena of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO.
The goal of create this network is Promote learning and Increase citizens’ awareness level in order to create sustainable learning cities through individual empowerment and social, Economic development and cultural progress and sustainable development that with share experiences in the sustainable development way , balanced and continuous Nations acting.
From the perspective of UNESCO, Learning City is a city that with the emphasis on sustainable development goals 2030 of the United Nations about trainings of 2030 and lifelong Learning with quality education and equal for all, all resources in each sector to achieve the following coordinates:
1- Promoting pervasive learning from basic until the higher education
2- The revival of learning in familys and Neighbourhoods
3- Facilitate learning for work and in the workplace
4- Expanding the use of new technologies in learning
5- Improve the quality of learning
6- Fosterage a culture of learning throughout life
The main conditions for creating a Learning City include:
1- Mobilizing all resources and their use
2- Sovereignty and participation of all stakeholders
3- Commitment and strong passion for the development in the policy creation (Decision-making and decision-catch)
